Local Residents Festive Lunch

Lea Marston Hotel held the annual festive lunch for the local retired residents of Lea Marston & Marston on Monday 9th December 2013.

A delicious festive lunch was served whilst everyone had a great time catching up on the comings and goings from the last 12 months.

Lea Marston and Abbey Hotel - Service Excellence Winners at Midlands Family Business Awards

The 4 star Lea Marston Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield, along with its sister hotel, The Abbey Hotel Golf and Spa in Redditch, are delighted to have been announced as winners at the Midlands Family Business Awards 2013.  

With ten categories in total which local companies can enter, the Abbey and Lea Marston Hotel entered the ‘Service Excellence’ category, sponsored by Fraser Brown Solicitors. After a tough final, which was judged by a panel of ten, led by a key figure from the family business community, on 14^th November at the glamorous Great Hall at Birmingham University, the Abbey and Lea Marston were elated to have been announced as the ‘Service Excellence’ winners. The Service Excellence award recognises and rewards family businesses across all industries that can demonstrate a sustained commitment to providing excellent service. 

 

The Abbey and Lea Marston Hotel Chairman, Mark Blake, was thrilled with this achievement citing: “We are immensely proud to receive this accolade; in our hotels real Service Excellence is at the heart of our culture”.

Long Service Awards Dinner

Last night Lea Marston Hotel held the annual Long Service dinner, where employees celebrated various years of service to the hotel ranging from 5 years right up to 30 years! 
A good night was had by all with a delicious dinner being served.

During this night the Employee of the Year was announced, well done to all those who were nominated.

A big congratulations goes to Jacek Starczewski who picked up this amazing award. A huge thanks goes to Jacek and all the nominees for all of their hard work and commitment to the hotel.

Hotel Fund Raising

Now in its fourth year, the Midlands Family Business Awards is a charitable initiative organised by Nottinghamshire family business The Wilson Organisation. Through the awards they aim to create an ethical, friendly and supportive community.

There are ten categories which local companies can enter, with Lea Marston Hotel entering and becoming a finalist in the 'Service Excellence' category. Judging all applicants are a judging panels of ten led by a key figure from the family business community, who recognise and understand the unique issues of running a family business. A huge thank you to local artist Rebecca Pamplin of 'Bec's Art Shed' who is kindly donating one of her original art works as a raffle prize. 

Rebecca has designed a beautiful piece specifically for this event. The piece which is signed is 60cm x 60cm x 3.2cm in heavy texture medium with a resin coating and features the iconic red balloon of Birmingham Children's Hospital and is valued at £400.00 and titled "Raising Hope". Dinosaur Valley at Twycross Zoo - Super Agency Visit

Conference booking agents enjoy “Dinosaur Valley” in North Warwickshire

  During the first weekend in May Lea Marston Hotel & Spa near Sutton Coldfield welcomed conference booking agents and their families to our unique agency event.

We appreciate that many of our clients have family commitments making it difficult to attend, so we decided to plan an event in conjunction with Twycross Zoo that would be suitable to the whole family.

On Friday evening our guests enjoyed a games night which included use of one of our traditional skittle allies, fun games and activities. This was complemented by a delicious themed buffet with such delights as Rex’s ribs, Stegasaurous shanks and Jurassic sides! (All the creation of our Head Chef Richard Marshall).

Next morning, following a hearty breakfast in the Adderley restaurant, agents had the opportunity to view our extensive business facilities that Lea Marston Hotel & Spa has to offer.

The fun filled weekend finished with a visit to Dinosaur Valley at Twycross Zoo which is just 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel.  Following a welcome reception agents and their families were free to experience the thrill of seeing 15 life sized animated dinosaurs in the Dinosaur Valley.  The visit also included a hot buffet lunch and the opportunity to spend the rest of the day exploring the attractions at the zoo.

Lea Marston Golf Competition Winner Announced

Huge congratulations to Darren Moffatt from Polesworth for winning a year golf membership for him and his son at Lea Marston Golf Club.

We recently ran a competition in the Tamworth Herald in association with Tamworth Football Club. The lucky winner was picked at Tamworth Football's Club last game of the season.

Red Nose Day Fundraising at Lea Marston Hotel

The 4 star Lea Marston Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield hosted a variety of fundraising activities for Red Nose Day.

Red nose day on Friday 15^th March saw Lea Marston Health Club Team take part in some very tough challenges. Personnel trainers Niall Gibson and Michael Chesney completed 1000 burpees in less than 2 hours. And Matt Outs, also a Lea Marston Personnel Trainer, managed to skip for 90 minutes and then persevered to achieve a further 500 burpees.

Other fundraising activities included the whole Spa and Reception team wearing their pyjamas for the whole day and Lea Marston Pastry Chef made some delicious red nose cakes for the team to sell.

Overall the Lea Marston team raised £535.00 for this valuable cause and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated and competed in challenges.
