Pensioners' Treat at Lea Marston Hotel

 

The 4 star Lea Marston Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield provided a free festive lunch for the local pensioners of Marston and Lea Marston Villages on Monday 10^th December.

This is the 24^th consecutive year that Lea Marston Hotel has hosted this splendid occasion and welcomed a total of over 40 local residents to this year’s lunch.

Everyone who attended received pre-dinner drinks in the bar, followed by an excellent 3-course Christmas meal with wine and crackers, all finished off with coffee and mince pies and a present for everyone to open on Christmas day.

The residents, who attended, expressed their sincere thanks to all the management and staff of Lea Marston Hotel for this most enjoyable treat which was very much appreciated.

Britain's Best Putter

IS BRITAIN’S BEST PUTTER AT LEA MARSTON GOLF CLUB....?

Congratulations to Lea Marston Hotel Golf Shop assistant Nathan Williams who has got through to the final of the regionals of Britain's Best Putter of the year competition.

Britain Best Putter Competition is an annual national competition sponsored by Callaway where players from all around the country compete to be named “Britain’s Best Putter”. As a reward the winner will then win a week’s golf at the superb Las Colinas Resort in Spain for two people.

Nathan Williams originally entered the qualifiers for Britain’s Best Putter competition held at his home club, Lea Marston Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield. The players with the least putts then went through to the regionals, which was held at the Belfry on 5^th August. Nathan was ranked 4^th best putter on this day and won a new Callaway Putter worth £200.

Nathan now has to compete in the Nationals being held on 13^th October at the Grove Hotel which is also the date of Nathan’s 18^th Birthday.

72 Holes of Golf, 300 Shots and 20 Mile Walk

A team from the 4 star Lea Marston Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield took part in the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge.

4 Lea Marston staff members (Darren Lewis, James Lewis, Harry Kelly and Dan Parsons) were joined by a team of 7 Lea Marston Golf Members to take part in the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge.

On the 21^st June, a very typical rainy summer’s day, each team member succeeded in playing 72 holes of golf, 300 shots and a 20 mile walk on the Lea Marston Golf Course.

Each team member collected sponsorship prior to completing the challenge and collectively raised £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan supports millions of people affected by cancer. Lea Marston Golf Manager Darren Lewis is delighted with this achievement, “It was an exhausting day for all involved, but we are delighted in raising this money to support the Macmillan charity”. Through doing this we will be fundraising for Macmillan which supports millions of people affected by cancer.

Lea Marston Hotel Dream Team through to the MARCHE Awards Finals

Lea Marston Hotel is delighted that a total of nine staff team members have become finalists for the 2012 MARCHE Awards of Excellence.

The MARCHE Awards (Midlands Association of Restaurants, Caterers, Hotels and Entertainment) were established in 1997 to encourage training, motivation and team building for organisations operating within the hospitality and leisure industries.

Every year competitions are held in various categories with hotels accross the Midlands competing. Lea Marston staff members who have become finalists in MARCHE categories include:

• Fashion Show - There will be a fashion show on the day by Novia "a unique collection of bridalwear" who will be previewing the very latest in wedding fashion.
• View the Hotel - On the day of our wedding fayre the hotel team will be on hand to show you our wedding reception and ceremony suites, latest refurbished bedrooms, photographic locations and a sneaky peak at the stunning SPA, ideal for hen parties and pre-wedding pampering.
• Wedding Offers - On the day of our wedding fayre we will also have information on our latest wedding offers.
